Power Transmission Clearance Range

If you're looking for lower-cost power transmission products, check the RR Fisher Clearance range first.

RR Fisher Clearance is where we list discontinued products, superseded lines, slow-moving stock, surplus inventory and products we're clearing from our range.

This can be a good way to find genuine industrial power transmission products at significantly reduced prices.

The range changes regularly and quantities are limited, so once a clearance product is sold, it may not be available again.

What is a clearance power transmission product?

A clearance product is generally a product that RR Fisher is looking to move out of its inventory or range.

There are several reasons a product may be placed on clearance:

  • Discontinued — the product or product line is no longer being continued.
  • Superseded — a newer product or alternative has replaced it.
  • Slow moving — we don't sell enough of the product to justify keeping it as a standard stocked line.
  • Overstock — we have more stock than we currently need.
  • Range clearance — we're reducing or changing the range we carry.
  • Limited stock — there may only be a small quantity remaining.

The important point is that clearance pricing does not automatically mean a product is poor quality. In many cases, the product is simply no longer something we want to hold as part of our regular range.

What power transmission products can you find on clearance?

Our clearance range can include many of the products used to keep industrial machinery running, including:

Bearings

Clearance bearings can include standard deep groove ball bearings, bearing units and other bearing types where we have surplus, discontinued or slow-moving stock.

If you know the bearing number you need, search the part number first. Common designations such as 6205-2RS, 6308-ZZ, 22212 EK or UC208 can identify the bearing size, series and features.

Belts

Clearance belts can include V-belts, timing belts and other specialist industrial belts.

If you're replacing an existing belt, check the complete belt designation rather than relying only on its appearance. A belt that looks similar may have different dimensions or construction.

Pulleys and bushes

We may also have clearance pulleys, taper bushes, pilot bore pulleys and other pulley components.

These can be particularly useful when you need a specific pulley or bush and the available clearance stock happens to match your application.

Chain and sprockets

Clearance chain, sprockets and related chain-drive components may also appear in the range.

As with any power transmission component, check the size, pitch, bore and other relevant specifications before ordering.

Couplings and other components

Depending on current stock, clearance products can also include couplings, seals, lubrication products, gearboxes and other power transmission components.

The exact range is always changing.

Why are clearance products cheaper?

The price reduction is generally related to the stock or range status of the product, rather than simply being a cheaper version of our standard product.

For example, we may have purchased stock for a product that has subsequently become slow moving. Rather than continue holding it indefinitely, we can reduce the price and clear the stock.

Likewise, a manufacturer may discontinue a product or introduce a replacement model, leaving us with remaining stock that we want to sell.

That creates an opportunity for a customer who needs the particular product to buy a genuine industrial component at a lower price.

Are clearance products new?

Clearance products are generally new products being cleared from stock.

The individual product listing should always be checked for any specific information about the product, its condition or its availability.

If you're unsure, contact us before ordering.

How much can you save?

Clearance pricing varies from product to product.

Some items may have only a modest reduction, while others can be substantially cheaper than their normal selling price.

The biggest opportunities are often products where we have decided to exit a line, clear excess stock or move on from a slow-moving product.

Rather than applying one blanket discount across the range, each clearance product is priced according to the stock we have and the reason we're clearing it.

Is buying a clearance product risky?

It depends on what you're buying and what you need it for.

The main consideration with clearance stock is future availability.

If you buy a standard product from our regular range, we aim to continue supplying it. If you buy a clearance product, there is a good chance that the same product will not be available once the remaining stock has been sold.

For a one-off repair, replacement or maintenance job, that may not matter at all.

If you're specifying a component for a machine that you expect to maintain for many years, however, it may be worth considering whether you want a product that will continue to be readily available.

If you're unsure, ask us.

What if I can't find the part I need in clearance?

That's where the normal RR Fisher range comes in.

Clearance stock is limited and constantly changing. If you don't find the size, part number or specification you're looking for, don't assume we can't supply it.

Search our main catalogue or contact RR Fisher with the part number, dimensions or details of the application.

We may have the standard product available, or we may be able to suggest an alternative.

Looking for cheap bearings, belts or other power transmission products?

If price is your main consideration, the clearance section is a good place to start.

You may find:

  • Cheap bearings
  • Clearance bearings
  • Discounted V-belts
  • Clearance belts
  • Surplus pulleys
  • Clearance sprockets
  • Discounted couplings
  • Discontinued power transmission products
  • Slow-moving industrial stock

The important distinction is that we're not trying to make everything we sell cheap.

Our clearance range exists because certain products need to be cleared.

That means you can potentially get a very good price on a product that would otherwise cost considerably more.

Clearance stock is limited

Clearance works differently from our normal catalogue.

If we have 20 bearings available and they sell, we may not be able to get another 20.

If a manufacturer has discontinued a belt, we may not be able to replenish it.

If we're clearing a product line, the product may disappear from our catalogue altogether.

So if you find the exact product you need at the right price, don't assume it will still be there next week.

Check Fisher First

RR Fisher supplies power transmission products to businesses throughout New Zealand.

Our normal range includes bearings, belts, pulleys, bushes, chain, sprockets, couplings, gearboxes, motors, lubrication products and other components used in industrial machinery. See the range here.

The clearance range is simply another part of that catalogue — a place to check when you're looking for a particular product at a lower price.

If you're replacing a part and know what you need, search the part number.

If you're not sure what you need, give us the details you have.
